HOUSE OF CHANEL

The House of Chanel was founded in 1910 by Gabrielle Chanel, who opened her first boutique in Paris under the name Chanel Modes. Initially focused on millinery, the house expanded into womenswear during the 1910s, introducing designs that prioritised comfort, movement and simplified construction. Chanel consolidated its modern identity in the 1920s through streamlined tailoring and restrained aesthetics. After closing the couture house in 1939, Chanel returned in 1954, followed by the introduction of the shoulder-worn Flap Bag in 1955. Following Gabrielle Chanel’s death in 1971, the house entered a new era under Karl Lagerfeld, appointed creative director in 1983, who reaffirmed and systematised its core design codes.

About shopping at Treasures

Dearest clients,

at Treasures, you will find carefully sourced pre-loved designer vintage pieces. Shopping vintage is cool & chic, it has it's charm and numerous advantages, but it also comes with certain compromises and specifics.

When shopping vintage (whether at Treasures or elsewhere) it is important to remember that pre-loved items come with signs of wear and imperfections. Each wrinkle and scratch adds to the charm of the piece and does not take away from its beauty. On the contrary, it serves as proof that the piece has been truly loved, used, and valued in its previous life. It shows that the item is practical, functional and well designed.

Our items are priced significantly lower than similar new products in boutiques. This discount accounts for signs of wear, age, any repairs made and the potential for future maintenance or repairs. As a result, our items might not be ideal for those seeking perfect, like-new condition.

We clean, refresh, repair and apply leather conditioner to the majority of our items, so that they enter their new life as beautiful as possible. If you would like to know any specific information regarding refresh and repairs we've done, please contact us. Some items also arrive to us already repaired.

In partnership with Entrupy, we offer authenticity certificates. Some items already have a certificate completed and included in the price, while for others, you can order one by adding it to your cart.

Thank you for taking your valuable time to read these words and I wish you an amazing shopping experience at Treasures!

Much love,
Tina, founder

Why buy vintage items?

No matter your financial situation, there will always be someone with more money to spend than you. And while they might be able to buy up an entire luxury store in the blink of an eye, they won’t be able to buy that vintage bag that you just found on here. It just does not compare.

Vintage is not just about price. It gives you access to exceptional craftsmanship, higher-quality materials, and iconic designs that are no longer in production. Many vintage pieces were made in an era where attention to detail and durability were prioritised differently than today.

It’s also about individuality. Vintage allows you to own something that not everyone else can have — pieces with character, history, and a sense of uniqueness that cannot be replicated.

In a world of mass production, vintage stands apart.

Condition guide

Please note that this is a used item, which exhibits signs of wear reflective of its previous use and history. Although we try to describe the condition as accurately as possible, the assessment is still subjective and may vary depending on individual perceptions.  Therefore, we recommend carefully reviewing the photos and forming your own judgment as they give you the best idea about the items condition.

A+ Excellent - Almost no signs of wear. Almost never used, mostly just stored.
A Very good - Used but very well maintained. The item has minor general signs of wear; for example small marks, scuffs, wrinkles, wear to the material, wear to the hardware, wear to the corners etc.). May have some alterations done.
B Good - Used but well maintained. More prominent signs of wear; for example (in addition to the above) spots, dirt, rubbing, tears, etc.
C For renovation - Older vintage items. Suitable for a professional renovation.

Please note that the evaluation of pre-owned or vintage items remains subjective and may differ from your expectations.

If you are unsure, please do not hesitate to contact us for a more detailed consultation regarding the condition.

Has the item been repaired or restored?

Leather is a natural material that may require maintenance, repairs, or restoration over time.

Most pieces are refreshed or restored before being listed, with the aim of presenting them in the best possible condition. If you would like more details about any work carried out, feel free to contact us.

This may include, for example, corner repairs, recolouring, filling, zipper repairs, stitching, and similar treatments. Any repairs involving the replacement of parts (such as a strap replacement) are always clearly stated in the product description.

Some items may have been repaired prior to reaching us, and minor repairs are not always possible to identify. If you prefer items without any repairs or modifications, please contact us for further guidance.

Can you notify me when an item I’m looking for becomes available?

Yes, we regularly send out new arrivals to our registered clients by email based on their preferences. You can share your preferences with us here.

Is it possible to reserve an item?

We truly appreciate your interest. However, in order to avoid items being held unnecessarily and to ensure a fast and efficient service for all clients, we do not offer reservations.

Do you offer a warranty on your items?

When purchasing vintage or pre-owned items—whether from Treasures or elsewhere—it is important to understand that their lifespan may differ from that of brand-new items purchased in a boutique.

Due to their age and previous use, they may require repairs or restoration in the future, which cannot be predicted at the time of sale. For this reason, we are unable to provide a warranty in this regard.

Are your items authentic?

Yes, all items we offer are 100% authentic.

Each piece is carefully inspected and verified before being listed for sale. We also offer professional authentication certificates for additional assurance.

You can read more about our authentication process and available certificates here.

How can I order certificate of authenticity?

Add the certificate to your cart here.

Aftercare

Please keep in mind that some older pieces (especially vintage items) require a higher level of care when worn and handled.

When purchasing any pre-owned item (whether from Treasures or elsewhere), it is important to consider that, due to its age and prior wear, it may require repairs or refreshment in the future that cannot be predicted at the time of sale.
